Job Description

**About the Role**

The Ottawa BlackJacks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Executive Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, driving revenue growth, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational aspects of the organization, including ticketing, merchandising, public relations, game day management, community relations, and partnership sales.
  • Create and instill a culture centered around the success of the franchise, with a focus on revenue generation across all major sales channels.
  • Train, recruit, motivate, and hold accountable all members of the front office to drive effective and efficient business operations.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve measurable and achievable targets.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships within Ottawa's business and basketball communities.
  • Oversee the marketing plan to ensure the franchise grows its presence in the marketplace.
  • Manage the organization's budget and allocate funds effectively.
  • Build long-lasting external relationships to ensure the team is a valued member of the community.
  • Negotiate favorable venue and office leases.
  • Ensure efficient communication with the team's venue and its operators.
  • Oversee game day and community event operations to deliver a high-quality experience.
  • Seek out media opportunities for the franchise.
  • Work closely with the CEBL's league office to integrate with their support for Clubs.
  • Liaise with the league office to ensure the team meets the league's minimum standards.
  • Educate the Basketball Operations department on the CEBL's rules and regulations.
  • Represent the BlackJacks at league meetings as needed.
