Job Title: Dietary Aide

Ontario Healthcare Center is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team.

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide will provide assistance in all food functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Dietician/Dietary Management and Cook as requested
  • Help with meal preparation, adhering to dietary needs of residents
  • Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Timely setup of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
  • Follow established portion controls and sanitation guidelines
  • Keep work areas clean, including meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, and floors
  • Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
  • Return clean dishes and utensils to storage areas
  • Carry out garbage and dispose of food and waste per facility regulations
  • Obtain food supplies for the next meal
  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times
  • Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Some experience helpful, on-the-job training provided
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet
  • Ability to read fine print on labels and menus
