The Ontario Healthcare Center is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by assisting with food functions, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Dietitian/Dietary Manager and Cook with meal preparation and service
  • Help with food preparation, including setting up meal service and delivering meal trays and food carts
  • Follow established portion controls and sanitation and food safety guidelines
  • Keep work areas clean, including tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, and floors
  • Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
  • Return clean dishes and utensils to storage areas
  • Carry out garbage and dispose of food and waste according to facility regulations
  • Obtain food supplies for the next meal
  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times
  • Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Some experience helpful, on-the-job training will be provided
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 15 feet
  • Ability to read fine print on labels and menus
