About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Harmony Hills Community. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food service and maintaining a clean and safe food preparation environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow proper food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
  • Date, label, and store food properly to maintain inventory and prevent waste
  • Keep work areas clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors in food preparation, dish room, and storage areas to prevent slips and falls
  • Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of residents, including assisting with meal preparation, serving meals and beverages, and following residents' diets and food preferences
  • Take orders for first and second menu choices from residents, following likes and dislikes
  • Set and clear tables in dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and maintain a high level of service
Requirements
  • Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate
  • Be familiar with correct procedures for service and handling of food
  • Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwasher, conveyor toaster, and meat-slicer
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) or a Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants)
