The Opportunity
In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of External Communications within the Canada Impact team. Your primary responsibility will be to design and execute engaging communication and outreach strategies that enhance and safeguard the reputation of the Brand across Canada. As a vital collaborator with the McDonald's Canada operations, your goal is to uphold and elevate the standing of one of the nation’s most recognized brands, while partnering with strategic communications, government relations, and sustainability experts in our regional offices and global headquarters.
Your position is essential for facilitating the deployment of both proactive and reactive communication strategies across diverse channels to foster trust among Canadians, while simultaneously supporting business expansion.

Principal Accountabilities
In alignment with McDonald's policies and procedures, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Qualifications:
Passionate about the McDonald's brand. Bachelor's degree or postgraduate certificate in a communications-related field. At least 6 years of experience in communications, particularly in external communications. Comprehensive understanding of the dynamic media landscape, including the impact of social media and digital platforms. Highly organized with strong project management capabilities; adept at prioritizing and managing competing deadlines. Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a deep understanding of public relations principles and practices. Proficient in crafting communication materials into relevant, timely, and engaging narratives. Experience in media relations and managing agency partnerships. Skilled in navigating media challenges and crises for brands. Familiarity with modern techniques for measuring communication impact. A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a desire to work as part of an integrated team while also being self-sufficient. Willingness to travel within Canada as needed (approximately
