About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented External Affairs Analyst to join our team at Kinross Gold Corporation. As an External Affairs Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the global external affairs function across a range of research, analysis, reporting, and project coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate, monitor, research, analyze and report on key political, public policy, social, and regulatory developments, in corporate areas of interest globally.
  • Research and prepare briefing notes, talking points, and other materials as needed for internal reporting or engagement with external stakeholders and industry associations.
  • Provide support to the Manager, External Affairs and other teams in the preparation and coordination of meetings with government officials, community partners, industry peers, external consultants and advisors, and other external stakeholders, participating in meetings as directed.
  • Prepare correspondence to various government representatives and other external stakeholders, as directed.
  • Support the research, preparation and maintenance of stakeholder databases, maps, and engagement plans.
  • Research and prepare presentations on political/external risk analysis for new areas of interest in connection with corporate development and other initiatives, as directed.
  • Support the Manager, External Affairs and other teams with the identification and preparation of executive conference attendance.
  • Support the Manager, External Affairs and other teams with the preparation and management of Kinross' government affairs program and related efforts at the annual PDAC conference.
  • Provide project coordination and management support to the Manager, External Affairs, and other teams, such as for the Great Bear Project, as required.
  • Provide overall support to the external relations teams and other functions globally, as required.
  • Assist with the development of corporate policies, templates, reporting processes, etc. as directed.
  • Interpret internal or external issues and recommend best practices or solutions, escalating more complex issues, as necessary.
  • Continuously assess and improve the operational effectiveness of the portfolio within prescribed limits.
