Production Operator II

Shift Details: This position is for the 2nd shift, commencing at 3:15 PM, with a 10% shift differential applicable for all hours worked during this shift.
Role Overview: The Manufacturing Operator I is responsible for executing tasks related to the production of pharmaceutical products, adhering to established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer specifications, and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The operator must ensure the safe and efficient performance of their responsibilities while maintaining product compliance with set standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery for various production processes, including Glatt fluid bed processing, granulation, blending, compression coating, imprinting, banding, and encapsulation.
- Conduct machine changeovers, cleaning, and setup as necessary.
- Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments to meet production specifications.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Complete manufacturing documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain compliance with relevant SOPs and cGMPs at all times.
- Perform duties safely, following all OSHA regulations and equipment manuals.
Work Environment:
The role is situated in a manufacturing/production/laboratory setting, which may include:
- Exposure to noise levels that may distract or pose a risk to hearing.
- Fumes and vapors resulting from chemical reactions or combustion.
- Unpleasant odors and airborne particles.
- Potential hazards from moving machinery and other safety risks.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must be capable of:
- Using hands for handling, feeling, and communication.
- Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, and bending.
- Lifting and moving items weighing up to a specified limit.
- Navigating various work environments including offices, labs, and production floors.
- Wearing necessary personal protective equipment such as respirators and safety goggles.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.
- 1-2 years of experience in production or manufacturing, particularly in primary production processes.
- Familiarity with Glatt fluid bed processors, granulation, blending, and encapsulation.
- Forklift certification is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety protocols.
- Proficient in math and computer skills, including MS Office and familiarity with SAP.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic English language proficiency (A2 level) is required for this role.
