Position Overview:
This role involves supporting the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC) at the University of Toronto Mississauga, a pivotal resource for enhancing academic skills among students. The RGASC aims to foster teaching and learning across various contexts within the university, providing essential resources for students and collaborating with faculty on educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Addressing inquiries within the defined scope of the role and appropriately redirecting them.
  2. Organizing logistical details and activities for events and programming.
  3. Monitoring enrollment figures and communicating these to management.
  4. Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program materials.
  5. Disseminating information regarding programs.
  6. Providing comprehensive details on eligibility criteria, procedures, and deadlines.
  7. Implementing practices and processes to support program delivery.
  8. Maintaining relevant information on the website.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of relevant experience.
  2. A minimum of two years of administrative experience, ideally in a post-secondary educational setting.
  3. Experience in front-line client services, preferably in a student-oriented environment.
  4. Proven experience in coordinating programs, workshops, schedules, and room bookings.
  5. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, file management systems, learning management systems, and virtual meeting platforms.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment when interacting with faculty, staff, and students.
  7. Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment that requires multitasking and adaptability.
  8. Excellent judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters.
  9. Experience in coordinating and managing large groups of staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in coordinating co-curricular programs.
  2. Familiarity with peer mentoring or supplementary instruction programs.
  3. Knowledge of content management systems.
