Academic Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Advisor to join our team at EPIC - Educational Program Innovations Center. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Attend Conferences and Workshops: Participate in educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in academic advising.
- Counseling and Support: Provide counseling and support to students regarding educational, career, or vocational issues, and refer them to other specialized services when required.
- Collaboration and Communication: Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
- Service Coordination: Coordinate the provision of counseling and information services to students, parents, and teachers, and administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests.
- Staff Meetings and Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay updated on the latest developments in academic advising and to contribute to the growth and development of the team.
- Security and Safety: Must be bondable.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Must have attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal Suitability: Must have a client-focused approach, efficient interpersonal skills, and sound judgment.
- Work Term and Language: Permanent position with English as the primary language of communication.
- Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
