Job Title: Operations Air Import

Job Summary:

The Operations Air Import role is responsible for processing all shipments, coordinating movement, and monitoring while in transit. This position requires handling shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with DSV policies and government regulations. As the primary point of contact for customers, this role provides exceptional customer service and quality by efficiently processing all inbound requirements within agreed time frames.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate daily shipments
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments
  • Create and coordinate country-specific documents
  • Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Track and trace all shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports as requested
  • Identify and implement solutions to problems
  • Confirm rates with carriers
  • Responsible for cost containment of shipments via accounting system
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select the most cost-effective method of pickup and delivery
  • Ensure DSV KPIs are met throughout the movement of the shipment
  • Analyze lanes to select the most appropriate mode of transport within customer requirements
  • Communicate with customers on relevant issues and resolution
  • Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to execution

This role supports DSV's commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification. Perform assigned tasks to support DSV in meeting its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment, and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of two years of international transportation industry experience or education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study. CIFFA certificate and Dangerous Goods Certification are assets. GDP Training may be required.

Skills and Competencies:

Good command of English, both verbal and written. Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening. Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances. Strong interpersonal skills, building professional relationships internally and externally. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively to meet goals and achieve results. Both a team builder and a team-player. Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Language and Computer Skills:

Proficient in both English and French. Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment. Microsoft Office suite and CargoWise experience are assets.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer. Regular working hours apply, but working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
