The Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek an innovative leader with a strong commitment to urban planning and expertise in policy formulation. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in the Ontario region and be knowledgeable about both provincial and federal planning regulations. As the Chief Planning Officer, you will lead the Urban Planning division, implementing strategies that prioritize sustainable, innovative, and community-focused urban design.

Essential Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Urban Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture
  2. Master's Degree in Urban Planning
  3. Over 10 years of experience in an urban planning context, encompassing both private and public sectors
  4. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the Urban Planning and Design field
  5. Extensive technical knowledge and design proficiency, particularly in a consulting capacity
  6. A strong portfolio showcasing urban planning projects, especially in Alberta
  7. Expertise in policy formulation, planning methodologies, and navigating development and permit procedures
  8. An entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a meticulous approach to project management
  9. High energy, creative thinking, and a proactive approach to design and planning
  10. Exceptional presentation and communication abilities
