Correctional Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Correctional Officer to join our team at the Ontario Public Service. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for inmates and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Training: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and willingness to train.
- Asset Languages: Proficiency in Cree and Ojibwa languages is an asset.
- Work Setting: Correctional facility environment with a focus on maintaining order and discipline.
- Certifications and Licenses: Possession of a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate is required.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Personal Suitability: Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics are essential.
- Financial Benefits: As per collective agreement.
