Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Correctional Officer to join our team at the Ontario Public Service. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for inmates and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security and Surveillance: Monitor and control access to the correctional facility, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and staff.
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is clean and well-maintained.
  • Program Delivery: Assist in the delivery of programs and services to inmates, promoting rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain effective relationships with inmates, staff, and community partners.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Will train
  • Language Skills: English or French
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Work Environment

As a Correctional Officer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. You will be required to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
