About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at the Ontario Public Service. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training: Ensure that all educational and training requirements are met, including secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Language Skills: Possess fluency in Cree and Ojibwa languages.
  • Work Setting: Work in a fast-paced correctional facility environment.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Hold a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, reliability, and team player qualities.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and gain experience in the field.
  • Financial Benefits: Receive compensation as per the collective agreement.
