Executive Pastry Chef

Château de Mercuès is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for managing the production and execution of all pastry menus offered by our luxury boutique property.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the pastry kitchen and supervise a team of pastry cooks to ensure exceptional quality and presentation of all pastry dishes.
- Develop and implement new pastry menus and recipes to meet the evolving tastes and preferences of our guests.
- Train and mentor junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in pastry preparation and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the executive chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of menu planning and execution.
- Monitor inventory and manage supplies to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Participate in staff education and training programs to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in pastry arts.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of pastry cooks.
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation and presentation techniques, with a focus on creativity and innovation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods, with a strong back and leg muscles.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, with a strong understanding of culinary terminology and concepts.
