Halton Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse workforce.

As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bi-weekly payroll cycle for approximately 5,200 employees across various departments. You will utilize your expertise in payroll systems and regulations to ensure compliance with internal policies, union agreements, and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for both unionized and non-unionized employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements and other payments in accordance with established policies.
  • Review and process payroll adjustment forms, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports for payroll review and analysis.
  • Reconcile and remit monthly government remittances accurately and on time.
  • Process employment and government forms as required, including Stats Canada reports, ROE's, and WSIB claim information.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal departments regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Contribute to cross-functional workflow development and testing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure organizational compliance with payroll processes.
  • Calculate and process retro payments as needed.
  • Provide training on payroll procedures to internal staff.
  • Perform administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and ad hoc reporting.

Qualifications:

  • A PCP designation is preferred; however, candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
  • A diploma or university degree in a related field is required.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment is essential.
  • Experience in healthcare or with Meditech systems is an asset.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in large ERP systems and intermediate Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
