Job Title: Wildfire Management Operations Supervisor

The Manitoba Government is in search of an enthusiastic and skilled professional to assume the role of Wildfire Management Operations Supervisor. This position is integral to the effective management of wildfire activities within the province.

The Wildfire Management Operations Supervisor (WMOS) will be tasked with the coordination of multiple facets of the provincial wildfire management strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing wildfire prevention, detection, pre-suppression, and suppression efforts.
  • Managing operations within the Regional Fire Centre, Fire Warehouse, and Mechanics Shop.
  • Leading and facilitating regional training programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in resource management or emergency response.
  • Proven experience in wildfire management and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Background in financial oversight.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to offer strategic guidance.
  • Familiarity with policy and program execution.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate physical fitness and the ability to operate effectively in demanding environments. A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence is required, along with a willingness to travel throughout the province, including the use of small aircraft when necessary.
