As a Senior Program Manager at Kepler Communications, you will take charge of program execution and spearhead significant program initiatives aimed at enhancing and cultivating our global partnerships while sustaining our positive trajectory of success and growth.

Your motivation to optimize productivity and foster program success from initiation to completion will be essential; adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly changing work environment are crucial.

In this position, you will supervise the preparation and coordination of technical iterations related to our ÆTHER spacecraft, including commissioning plans, flight software development, and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) capabilities to ensure the successful demonstration of Kepler's on-orbit objectives.

This role supports the design, development, and construction of our Tranche-2 ring of spacecraft.

You will be a pivotal leader, collaborating closely with our Engineering and Operations teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution of these critical efforts from program initiation to transition to operations.

Additionally, you may play a vital role on proposal teams for opportunities involving the development or modification of flight software, commissioning, or operations of space vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring effective and efficient planning for program and product teams across systems and subsystems.
  • Holding teams accountable and making decisive choices regarding scope changes and performance specifications, while clearly communicating recommendations to business leadership.
  • Leading a cross-functional team to maintain alignment among engineering, operations, program management, and business development.
  • Reporting on key programmatic performance indicators, including but not limited to Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) metrics.
  • Collaborating closely with the program director, other program managers, the chief engineer, and the systems engineering organization to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
  • Identifying obstacles to successful program execution, assisting teams in determining and finalizing mitigation strategies for key risks, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Ensuring a clear software development strategy and process are upheld and adhered to.
  • Generating integrated programmatic artifacts that encompass the costs associated with executing our objectives.
  • Working closely with department leads to communicate top risks and milestones, maintain alignment, and hold them accountable for their respective functional responsibilities.
  • Effectively communicating program status and key performance indicators to stakeholders in the most suitable forums.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management and/or Systems Engineering within a high-reliability environment.
  • 8+ years of aerospace experience, including Research & Development (R&D), Assembly, Integration & Testing (AI&T), Launch and Early Operations Phase (LEOP), commissioning, and operations.
  • Extensive skills in program planning.
  • Experience with flight software development and GNC/AOCS subsystem development.
  • Familiarity with agile framework execution and best practices, integrating these into hardware program execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Experience managing highly complex development programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience transitioning hardware and software from R&D to production to operations.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in RF components, concepts of operations (conops), and interfaces.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in optical communications.
  • Master of Business Administration or similar advanced education.
