Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with the Director of Regulatory Compliance to aid in the creation and execution of Regulatory Compliance and Data Privacy Frameworks that uphold enterprise compliance with pertinent laws and regulations. Establishing and maintaining oversight mechanisms, such as compliance evaluations, to monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards, while identifying and managing business risks or areas for enhancement through corrective action plans. Keeping abreast of regulatory developments through Home Hardware's Legal Watch program, assessing and tracking proposed controls and implementation strategies. Assisting in the formulation and periodic review of enterprise policies, processes, procedures, and templates. Contributing to significant project and change initiatives by advocating for compliance and privacy-by-design principles, while evaluating regulatory and data privacy risks and control measures through the approval of Regulatory and Privacy Impact Assessments. Overseeing the investigation of regulatory compliance and data privacy incidents and complaints, managing the incident response strategy, and directing post-incident activities, including corrective action plans. Collaborating with and providing expert guidance on all regulatory and data privacy issues, reinforcing team members' ownership and accountability regarding compliance obligations. Delivering training and awareness sessions to team members and facilitating workshops to address business trends while assessing top and emerging regulatory and data privacy risks. We seek candidates who possess: A post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Compliance Manager role or a similar capacity. Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of Canadian privacy legislation, concepts, and best practices; a CIPP/C designation is preferred, along with a willingness to obtain it. Experience in initiating change initiatives with substantial cross-functional impact. Familiarity with risk management methodologies, including assessments, monitoring, control design, and effectiveness. A self-motivated attitude with outstanding research, analytical, and reporting skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with all levels of the organization and leadership forums. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate recommendations, influence outcomes, and clarify complex or ambiguous privacy requirements. The capacity to be present onsite three days a week to support our hybrid working model.
