Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments and lead the healthcare team in providing patient care.
  • Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Contribute to the development of healthcare policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in a related program area, with a minimum of 1 year of current experience in long-term care.
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program, with a preference for those with a Certificate in Gerontology.
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements in accordance with Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups, respond to simultaneous demands, and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Proficient in using computers, software programs, and applications, such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required, with the ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment.
