Job Title: Nurse Specialist

Shared Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.

Job Summary

The Nurse Specialist will work in an interdisciplinary team to provide a range of interventions, including psychiatric assessments, consultation, and day treatment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent mental health, with experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, families, and community partners to provide assessment, education, and interventions.
  • Develop and implement group therapy programs for children and adolescents with mental health issues.
  • Provide consultation and education to parents and caregivers on medication management and side effects.
  • Administer and monitor the effects of medications and related healthcare procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client treatment plans and progress.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client care and develop treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing (BSc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Experience in group therapy and training in several clinical modalities.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence.
  • Knowledge of various neurological disorders, such as autism, cognitive disabilities, and genetic syndromes.
  • Must be familiar with psychotropic medications and their management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Training in behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health team.
