Shared Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
Job SummaryThe Nurse Specialist will work in an interdisciplinary team to provide a range of interventions, including psychiatric assessments, consultation, and day treatment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent mental health, with experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, families, and community partners to provide assessment, education, and interventions.
- Develop and implement group therapy programs for children and adolescents with mental health issues.
- Provide consultation and education to parents and caregivers on medication management and side effects.
- Administer and monitor the effects of medications and related healthcare procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client treatment plans and progress.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client care and develop treatment plans.
- Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing (BSc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).
- Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Experience in group therapy and training in several clinical modalities.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence.
- Knowledge of various neurological disorders, such as autism, cognitive disabilities, and genetic syndromes.
- Must be familiar with psychotropic medications and their management.
- Experience in child and adolescent mental health.
- Training in behavioral strategies and interventions.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health team.
