Position Overview

ATLAS Aéronautique inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dedicated team in the aviation manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in machining processes and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a Registered Apprenticeship program.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a machining role.
Work Environment

The position is based in an aviation/aerospace manufacturing facility, where attention to detail and precision are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and components.
  • Set up and fine-tune production machinery and tools.
  • Assemble and fit machine parts to stringent tolerances.
  • Document and report any deviations from established specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and complete necessary reports.
  • Utilize precise measuring instruments to verify dimensions of machined parts.
  • Operate both conventional and CNC machine tools.
  • Ensure products meet accuracy and specification standards.
Certifications

Applicants must hold a Machinist Trade Certification.

Tools and Equipment

Experience with the following tools is essential:

  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Gauges
  • Verniers
Machinery Experience

Familiarity with various machines, including:

  • Automatic lathes
  • Boring machines
  • Drill presses
  • Milling machines
  • Surface grinders
Safety and Security

A criminal record check is required for this position.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should be prepared for:

  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
