Position Overview

ATLAS Aéronautique inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team in the aviation and aerospace manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining and be adept at working with various machine tools.

Qualifications
  • Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, focusing on precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and components.
  • Set up and fine-tune production machinery and tools.
  • Assemble and fit components to exact tolerances.
  • Document and report any deviations from established specifications.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and complete necessary reports.
  • Utilize precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify dimensions.
  • Operate both conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
Certifications and Tools
  • Required Certification: Machinist Trade Certification
  • Measuring Instruments: Micrometers, Calipers, Gauges, Verniers
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following machinery is essential:

  • Automatic lathes
  • Boring machines
  • Drill presses
  • Milling machines
  • Surface grinders
Safety and Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and pay close attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs).

Work Schedule

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of working in either English or French.
