We are seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing roads and other infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on roads, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
- Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, message boards, and temporary signage.
- Repair and maintain bridge structures, including railings, expansion joints, and painting.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as large trucks and specialized motor vehicles, to transport crew and equipment to work sites.
- Perform litter and debris removal and disposal, including ice and snow removal using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
- Repair and maintain slopes, berms, culverts, drains, and other infrastructure assets.
- Control vegetation appearance and growth using lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
- Repair and maintain signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting.
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites using pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
- Participate in emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair preferred.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required to drive a company vehicle.
- Class DZ/AZ driver's license and OTM Book 7 highly desirable.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be more than moderate at times.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
The employee must have the ability to pass a fit test for a respirator as required and work at heights and in confined spaces.
