Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our Infrastructure Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our road infrastructure, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, message boards, and temporary signage.
  • Repair and maintain bridge structures, including railings, expansion joints, and painting.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites, operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
  • Perform litter and debris removal, and maintain the appearance of highways and medians.
  • Repair and maintain slopes, berms, culverts, drains, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Control vegetation growth and appearance, using lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
  • Repair and maintain signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting.
  • Operate manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of work experience in infrastructure maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Class DZ/AZ driver's license and OTM Book 7 highly desirable.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
