Position Overview:

The IT End User Services division is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance the Service Desk team, which acts as the primary contact point for staff seeking IT assistance. The team’s primary objective is to address incidents, resolve issues, and manage requests efficiently or direct them to the appropriate channels when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and prioritize incoming requests to the IT department through various communication channels.
  2. Provide Level 1 and 1.5 support to end users, including but not limited to:
  • Installation and removal of software
  • Addressing Operating System (Windows 10) and hardware-related concerns
  • Printer configuration
  • Assisting with the administration of enterprise-wide tools such as Office 365
  • Delivering remote support through TeamViewer and SCCM
  • Participating in after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis
  • Supporting asset management and tracking of hardware and software resources

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a College Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  3. Proficient time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and tickets simultaneously.
  4. Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal abilities.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to communicate solutions effectively to non-technical staff.
  7. Experience documenting recurring issues related to problems and incidents.
  8. Familiarity with ServiceNow as a ticketing platform.
  9. Working knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 enterprise environments.
  10. Understanding of the M365 toolset (e.g., Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
  11. Knowledge of Group Policy structure is advantageous.
  12. Familiarity with ITIL processes.
  13. Fluency in both English and French is essential.

Work Environment:

This role necessitates a presence in the office for a minimum of four days a week to ensure optimal performance.
