Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and auditing employee transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with collective agreements, city policies, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze employee transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Audit transactions submitted by departmental supervisors and managers
  • Apply collective agreement, legislative, and policy provisions as they relate to employee transactions
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and management
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide optimal client service
Requirements
  • Completion of 2-year post-secondary or community college diploma in business or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in a Human Resources and/or Payroll functional area
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll/HR policies, processes, and procedures
  • Intermediate knowledge of HRIS (preferably SAP)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
