Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Production Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Finance team, ensuring timely and efficient period-end reporting, preparing essential G/L account reconciliations, and compiling legal entity statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to pinpoint potential issues or risks, collaborating with the finance team for resolution.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial outcomes, including comprehensive balance sheet and profit & loss analytics for precision and thoroughness.
  • Develop working papers to substantiate third-party participation payables, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and maintain journal entries related to Film Investments, including amortization and IIF reconciliations.
  • Assess impairment indicators for film assets and provide insights for quarterly impairment testing.
  • Evaluate production financing structures concerning legal entity accounting and intercompany eliminations.
  • Support the month-end closing process and prepare accounting entries for various accounts, including acquisition-related and other liability accounts.
  • Oversee legal entity accounting and transfer pricing adjustments for statutory reporting and tax compliance.
  • Prepare working papers and analyses to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditors.
  • Coordinate internal, external, and statutory audits for multiple entities.
  • Investigate new financial disclosure requirements and assess their implications for the company.
  • Guide the documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices for the finance team.
  • Assist in enhancing systems and automating financial reporting processes and reconciliations.
Qualifications
  • Accounting designation is required; CPA-CA is preferred.
  • Relevant experience as a financial analyst; experience in a public company, media, or studio production distribution environment is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and embrace innovative ideas from colleagues.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and a focus on achieving results while upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and excel.
  • Possesses a proactive approach to all tasks.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting systems (e.g., Great Plains Dynamics, Management Reporter) is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet applications (i.e., Excel).
