POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Mortgage Financing Specialist reports directly to the Mortgage Originations Manager and is responsible for the processing and fulfillment of mortgage applications. This role involves direct collaboration with the Sales Team and various third-party entities to ensure all conditions for advancing files to funding are met. The Mortgage Financing Specialist plays a crucial role in risk management, ensuring that valid and enforceable security is established for each mortgage while adhering to the institution's policies and regulatory standards.
Building strong relationships with other departments, particularly the Sales Team, is essential. As a key representative of the Mortgage Originations Department, the Specialist must exemplify professionalism and foster effective communication within the organization while maintaining the independence necessary for quality control decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mortgage Financing Specialist is tasked with managing, resolving issues, auditing, and processing new mortgage applications from initiation to funding. This individual, while part of the Mortgage Operations team, will collaborate closely with Sales Agents and serve as a resource for inquiries and training needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a client-centric approach to mortgage structuring, aligning with client needs and timelines.
- Guaranteeing the proper execution of mortgages, ensuring registration on title to provide the necessary security for the loan.
Attention to detail is paramount, with a strong emphasis on collecting and reviewing documentation to meet all legal and internal requirements. This role demands a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a positive client experience while maintaining accuracy and timely funding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Degree or Community College Diploma
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of the financial services landscape
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new software
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on relationship building
