About the Role

Billyard Insurance Group - Edmonton South is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Insurance Broker to join our team in commercial lines sales. As a key member of our brokerage, you will be responsible for generating leads, building relationships with clients, and delivering exceptional sales experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including networking with Centres of Influence and leveraging marketing tactics.
  • Sales and Account Management: Provide quotes, assess risk, and advise clients on insurance coverages tailored to their needs, while prioritizing building a quality book of business and maintaining good retention ratios.
  • Commercial Lines Expertise: Stay up-to-date on industry developments and underwriting criteria, and provide expert advice to clients on commercial lines insurance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with broker partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and delivery of sales results.
Requirements
  • General Insurance License: Hold a valid General Insurance Level 1 license from the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC).
  • Sales Experience: Possess at least 2 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Commercial Lines Knowledge: Have a proficient understanding of commercial lines insurance and its applications.
  • Insurance Software: Familiarity with insurance software, including broker portals and customer management systems, is an asset.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in a foreign language is an asset.
