Quality Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Quality Director to lead our global quality organization at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a world-class quality strategy that drives excellence across our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Excellence: Lead the development and implementation of a quality excellence program that drives innovation, product development, and manufacturing advancements across our global operations.
- Manufacturing Quality: Drive manufacturing quality excellence and leverage best practices across our US and Canada manufacturing locations and 100+ quality personnel.
- Quality Operating System: Ensure alignment and adoption of a standard quality operating system across our global operations, in collaboration with business and enterprise quality leadership teams.
- Quality Leadership: Provide quality leadership and support for essential programs, including design reviews, performance metrics, and quality program deliverables.
- Culture of Continuous Improvement: Build a culture of systematic problem-solving to continuously improve quality performance, driven by our enterprise quality strategy and the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS).
- Talent Development: Lead the talent agenda for quality across our countries, regions, and business units, including job family definition, incentives, qualifications, career path, standards, training, and development programs.
- Quality Organization: Install a strong quality organization with a bias for action, across our global operations, with a sole focus on 'zero defects' and improving the customer experience.
- Quality Improvement Strategy: Create and deploy a quality improvement strategy to reach recognized world-class performance in internal PPM, supplier PPM, ERI, YRR, warranty, and cost of poor quality.
- APQP Process: Drive the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to install strong quality performance across design, supply chain, and manufacturing.
- Customer Expectations: Work closely with business leaders in sales and engineering to ensure we understand and continuously exceed customer expectations.
- Operations Talent Review: Lead the operations talent review process for the PBU quality organization, ensuring hi-potential team members are identified and developed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or operations management.
- Experience: 10+ years' experience in operations and quality leadership roles.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record in building strong quality organizations across a multi-site, international environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create vision and successfully deploy a quality system across all levels of the organization.
- Leadership Skills: A leader that motivates and engages people, from the shop floor to senior leadership.
- Quality Tools and Systems: Extended quality tool, system, and problem-solving experience, including 8D, Kepner Trego, Six Sigma, quality control methods, and statistical control methods.
- Travel: Ability to travel 25% of the time.
- Education: MS in engineering and/or operations management or MBA.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record as a leader in both operations and quality roles.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
