Position Overview

As an Agricultural Operations Supervisor at Turning Leaf Greenhouses, you will play a vital role in overseeing various aspects of crop production and management. This permanent position requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in agricultural practices.

Work Environment

The work setting is primarily in a rural area, focusing on miscellaneous crop farming. Candidates should be prepared to work in conditions that may include heat and odours, while actively participating in the harvesting of crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan for crop growth by considering factors such as water saturation, light, and temperature.
  • Oversee and direct activities related to the deleafing of agricultural crops.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of greenhouse facilities.
  • Supervise the harvesting of seedlings and manage fertilizer mixing.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial and production records.
  • Lead and supervise nursery and greenhouse staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine chemical and physical tests on products to ensure quality.
  • Organize and coordinate planting, cultivating, and harvesting activities.
  • Recruit and train staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Identify and address compliance issues within the operations.
Supervisory Role

This position involves supervising a team of 5-10 individuals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a college or CEGEP program.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of a Pesticide Applicator's Licence is required.
