Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our team at Park Lawn Corporation. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Data Management: Track and record customer service status, prepare final invoices for funeral directors, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare or initiate client letters relating to account status, maintain and archive client files, and liaise with funding companies regarding client payouts.
  • Financial Administration: Accept and record customer payments, make weekly bank deposits, process monthly payment plan payments, and prepare disbursement checks as required.
  • Financial Analysis: Track and record unearned revenue for month-end, maintain pre-paid contract ledgers, and assist sales staff with client paperwork.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related business program.
  • Experience: 6 months to 1 year of work experience in a professional setting, preferably in a financial role.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, knowledge of Sage, and fast and accurate data entry skills.
Competencies
  • Financial Management: Ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations.
  • Performance Management: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ethical Conduct: Ability to work independently, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting. Equipment used to perform the essential function of this position includes, but is not limited to, computer, fax, copier, merchant terminal, multi-line phone system, and personal or company-owned vehicle.

Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift to 25 pounds. This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling. This position may also be exposed to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low.

Travel

This position may require up to 10 percent out-of-area and overnight travel. Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
