Senior Social Media Communications Expert

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the guidance of the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager, the Senior Communications Specialist, Social Media and Digital Marketing plays a pivotal role in crafting and managing content across BC Housing's diverse digital and social media platforms. This position is tasked with implementing social media initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives. The specialist will actively engage with online audiences, monitor interactions, and create compelling visual and textual content for distribution across all digital channels.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A higher-level diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline. Significant experience in communications or marketing, particularly in managing social media and digital content for varied audiences. Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, training, and experience that meets employer standards.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Comprehensive understanding of photography standards and legal considerations for digital content. Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation capabilities. Strong organizational skills and effective time management. Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Familiarity with a broad range of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Competence in producing photography and videography. Ability to create, prepare, and publish content for both internal and external web audiences. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for developing various graphics and communication materials. Capability to articulate BC Housing programs and address online inquiries in an engaging and informed manner. Skill in conveying information through digital storytelling and multimedia approaches. Initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment in decision-making. Capacity to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and high ethical standards. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail across multiple projects. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
