POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the guidance of the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager, the Senior Specialist in Social Media Communications is tasked with the creation and management of engaging content across BC Housing's digital and social media platforms. This role involves executing strategic social media initiatives that align with the organization's mission and objectives. The incumbent will actively monitor interactions, craft compelling social media messages, and produce visually appealing content for dissemination across various digital channels.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A higher-level diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline. Significant experience in communications or marketing, particularly in managing social media and digital content for diverse audiences. Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience deemed acceptable by the employer.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive understanding of photography standards and applicable regulations for digital content. Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation capabilities. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Familiarity with a variety of online social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Competence in producing photography and videography. Ability to create, prepare, and publish content for websites catering to both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for developing diverse graphics and communication materials. Capability to articulate information effectively through digital storytelling and multimedia methods. Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment. Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail across multiple projects. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
