Overview

Gilbane is in search of a dedicated Construction Project Coordinator to support the project team in acquiring, assessing, coordinating, and disseminating information and approvals essential for executing the project efficiently, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

This position will primarily be based on-site, with occasional visits to the office for training sessions, meetings, and other collaborative efforts.

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will:

  • Effectively manage the change management process under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Actively participate in monthly cost report meetings, contributing valuable data and insights.
  • Adhere to project control procedures, including monthly cost management, payment requests, and cost reporting.
  • Facilitate timely material deliveries.
  • Accurately estimate and prepare shop drawings.
  • Encourage innovative thinking among team members to explore different approaches to challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify client needs, align them with Gilbane's offerings, and communicate the value and uniqueness of Gilbane to potential clients.
  • Proactively gather customer feedback, fostering a customer-centric mindset within teams, and demonstrate knowledge of various market sectors and delivery systems to ensure positive client relations.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of experience with a construction management or general contracting firm, focusing on projects valued between $5-$50 million.
  • Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to establish specific, measurable, and attainable performance goals while holding team members accountable.
  • Demonstrated capacity to foster active team participation, trust, and positive interactions.
  • Ability to articulate financial knowledge and understand customer satisfaction in relation to the company's profitability.
  • Proven adaptability in communication style to suit various audiences and situations, including effective presentations and clear, concise writing on complex topics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with financial management principles.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification; OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Understanding of contract documents and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Procore; expertise in CMiC preferred.
