The Infrastructure Intelligence Unit is on the lookout for a proficient Senior Policy Research Analyst who will deliver expert guidance on infrastructure policy within a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the province's approach to strategic, evidence-driven infrastructure investments across various governmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and engage in projects aimed at conceptualizing, developing, and recommending strategic policy options.
  • Participate in strategic planning, analyze emerging issues, and provide sound policy advice with actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee all dimensions of project planning and management, including setting timelines, deliverables, and managing consultant procurement.

Research and Analytical Expertise:

You will leverage your research experience, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative analysis, to conduct environmental scans, analyze best practices, and evaluate options and impacts.

Your ability to assess new or modified policies and evaluate proposals for their impact on infrastructure policy and planning will be crucial.

Moreover, you will analyze proposals and stakeholder interests to develop viable policy options, address concerns, and promote best practices.

Technical Proficiency:

Your extensive experience in policy development processes and policy analysis, along with your understanding of ministry strategic directions, will enable you to craft effective policy options and outreach strategies.

Familiarity with government capital planning, asset management, procurement, and the delivery of large public infrastructure projects, as well as economic theory in a policy context, is essential.

Your consultation skills will be vital in garnering support for infrastructure planning policies and resolving emerging issues.

Collaboration and Communication Skills:

Demonstrated consensus-building and relationship management skills will be necessary to foster and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, addressing diverse needs effectively.

Experience in a collaborative team environment and delivering projects reliant on successful teamwork is expected.

Strong facilitation and presentation skills will be required to communicate policy and program recommendations effectively.

Project Management Acumen:

You should possess robust project management skills to lead and engage in projects while conceptualizing strategic policy options.
