Position Overview:

The Senior Research Analyst will be an integral part of the Corporate Real Estate Management energy management team, contributing to the execution of various initiatives and projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background, enthusiasm, and proactive approach in the energy management sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage documents, reports, proposals, and correspondence as required by the Unit.
  • Assist in the execution of research, policy, and related program development activities.
  • Establish, search, and maintain databases of relevant programs and services.
  • Design methods for gathering pertinent data from program applications.
  • Compile information packages and documentation to support the Unit's operations.
  • Develop and maintain an organized filing system for the Unit.
  • Provide coverage for Division Staff as needed and perform additional duties such as monitoring divisional email accounts and responding to inquiries.
  • Create detailed spreadsheets, maps, and documents to support the division and its initiatives.
  • Design, update, and maintain web pages.
  • Develop and manage directories, statistics, records, and communications utilized by all levels in the division, including management staff.
  • Provide economic and business insights in response to both internal and external inquiries.
Essential Qualifications:

Your application must demonstrate your qualifications in relation to:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in conducting research, analysis, interpreting large datasets, and summarizing findings.
  • Proficiency in data identification, collection, and documentation, including the creation of effective written materials such as reports and memos.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Additionally, you must possess:

  • The ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong research skills to access and summarize relevant qualitative and quantitative information into clear reports for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Highly developed project management and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and represent the division in various situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting with the public and staff at various organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with energy rates and billing structures is beneficial.
  • Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) is a plus.
