Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a key member of our educational team, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to foster and develop the individual student's potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs with a group or individual students.
  • Function as an advocate for the students and as a member of the school-based team where required.
  • Work collaboratively with school and district staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of classroom programs and activities.
  • Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
  • BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
  • 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
