Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of students.
- Provide direct support to students in a classroom or individual setting, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate programs, adapting instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Act as an advocate for students, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Participate in school-based teams to develop and implement strategies that promote student success and well-being.
- Completion of a Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate) or equivalent.
- Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program or equivalent.
- BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract.
- 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities.
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.
