Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students in a group or individual setting.
- Act as an advocate for students and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.
- Assist with the delivery of regular and alternate programs, including special education and English language learner programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and community members to ensure a comprehensive support system.
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
- BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
- 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
