Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide support to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs to students with diverse needs.
  • Provide individualized support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
  • BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
  • 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
