Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team at our Kingsville Head Office Location. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing daily cash deposits, processing customer payments, and maintaining accurate customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily cash deposits, including necessary reports for the bank
  • Process customer payments, applying to and updating the appropriate customer account
  • Research and process customer short payments, discrepancies, and price adjustments, seeking approval from relevant officials
  • Research and process charge backs, product returns, and bad checks, seeking approval from relevant officials
  • Answer customer accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow-ups
  • Call and/or mail correspondence to customers to collect outstanding accounts receivable
  • Reconcile company customer accounts with corresponding data from customers
  • Assist with related special projects and audits, as required
  • Perform basic filing of relevant customer documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, cash remittances, and other customer correspondence
  • Provide back-up reception phone coverage
  • Perform general office duties, as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Accounting college/university graduate with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Solid experience in Microsoft Office, proficient in Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered an asset
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, strong time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic analytical skills required, strong math and communication skills needed
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Respectful and tactful when dealing with customers and other employees
  • Company confidentiality agreement required
  • Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of the job
  • Willingness to work with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity
