We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) at the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's EDIA strategy and ensuring that our workplace is inclusive, equitable, and accessible for all.
Primary AccountabilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading and collaborating with senior leaders, management, and staff to advance EDIA at NRR. This will involve:
- Assessing the current state of EDIA at NRR and developing a strategic plan to achieve a desired future state aligned with corporate strategies;
- Identifying and implementing new initiatives, ongoing activities, and prioritized measures to build on strengths and address gaps;
- Developing an evaluation framework and monitoring progress towards EDIA goals;
- Building relationships and collaborating with EDIA colleagues across government, community-based groups, and organizations to identify and implement EDIA best practices;
- Integrating EDIA into core people and business processes, such as recruitment and selection, leadership development, performance management, and workforce planning;
- Ensuring EDIA is embedded into resource, policy, and program development to reflect corporate EDIA goals and objectives;
- Ensuring NRR's external engagement, partnerships, and service delivery reflect the department's commitments to EDIA.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social sciences, public administration, or human resources, and have progressive managerial experience. Key qualifications include:
- Leading large-scale projects from inception to completion, employing strategic project management and evaluation techniques;
- Conducting research, policy development, and strategy formulation in collaboration with senior leadership;
- Partnering with organizations and community groups, government departments, and employers to achieve shared objectives;
- Facilitating and training in large group settings and preparing high-quality reports and presentations for senior leaders.
