Director of Equity and Community Supports

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Equity and Community Supports. This is a critical role that will play a key part in advancing our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) at The University of King's College.
About the RoleThe Director of Equity and Community Supports will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of EDIA initiatives and strategies across the university. This will include working closely with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement EDIA initiatives and strategies that align with the university's commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Provide leadership and support to faculty, staff, and students on EDIA-related matters, including training and education.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote EDIA.
- Work with the university's Equity Committee to develop and implement EDIA-related initiatives and strategies.
- Provide support and resources to students, faculty, and staff who experience or witness discrimination or harassment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and partners to advance EDIA initiatives.
- Monitor and report on EDIA-related metrics and data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, social justice, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in higher education.
- Experience leading and implementing EDIA initiatives and strategies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working with EDIA policies and procedures, including training and education.
- Knowledge of EDIA-related laws and regulations, including the Scarborough Charter on Anti-Black Racism and Black Inclusion.
