About the Role

The Abbotsford School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing a world-class educational experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement inquiry-based learning experiences that foster student engagement and academic growth.
  • Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress and understanding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize technology to enhance language acquisition and instructional delivery.
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Experience teaching English Language Learners at the Secondary level.
  • Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments.
  • Familiarity with IELTS instruction and BC ELL Standards.
  • Eligibility for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate and B.C. Certification.
