Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support for Canadian business operations. Key responsibilities include recruitment, employee relations, talent development, performance management, compliance, and compensation and benefits. The successful candidate will be fully bilingual in English and French.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage employee trackers, conduct initial intake of employee concerns, and maintain NAVEX database.
  • Source, screen, and interview job applicants for all craft hourly openings, track candidate progress, and generate offer letters.
  • Conduct trainings and interviews in French, assist with English to French translation, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage campus recruitment, attend job fairs, and assist in building relationships with different programs.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of HR experience.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, or relevant technical discipline is required.
  • Knowledge of Ontario and Quebec labour legislation and the Employment Standards Act is required.
  • Familiarity with labour unions and CCQ agreements in Quebec is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple competing priorities at once.
  • A self-starter who can proactively research employment law and compliance for multiple provinces.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation in both English and French.
  • Superior technical abilities to utilize HRIS, applicant tracking system, and related programs.
