Job Title: Human Resources Consultant

At Homewood Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Consultant to join our team. As an integral part of our collaborative team, you will be responsible for delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strategic business partner relationships with stakeholders based on in-depth knowledge of each unit/department, their goals, needs, and expectations.
  • Provide expert support, advice, and guidance on employee and labor relations issues.
  • Liaise with union leadership and representatives to foster positive, harmonious, and proper labor relations.
  • Provide expert advice to leaders on the interpretation and application of new or current collective agreements and on other labor and employment-related matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations ensuring defensible and reasonable due process is followed and documentation is sufficient to stand up to challenges and potential litigation.
  • Develop and deliver HR training/information sessions to leaders as relevant and applicable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or College diploma in Human Resources and/or a related field.
  • Previous hospital experience is considered an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in labor relations.
  • Collaborative mind-set that values strong performance and accountability, open and honest communication, and demonstrates integrity, respect, consistency, and fairness.
  • Exceptional judgment, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated consulting, mediation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen, persuade, and achieve consensus.
  • Superior investigation skills.
