We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Child and Adolescent Services team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work with children and adolescents up to the 19th birthday, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, family-based, or group therapy to children and adolescents
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Supervise case managers and behavioral interventionists as needed
- Develop and deliver evidence-based educational presentations to clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Participate in grand rounds presentations and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures
We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in clinical or mental health, and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work. You should have at least two years of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient mental health setting, providing independent assessment and treatment of adult mental health disorders.
You should possess strong assessment, intervention, and research skills, as well as specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders. Competence in evidenced-based interventions such as CBT, and risk assessment is also required.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $37.31-$49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
